Theme for 2018 is a one lined quote that gives me a idea for the Poem – Quotes are copied from Goodreads.com – tag poetry.

“Poetry is what happens when nothing else can.” ― Charles Bukowski

Spinning out Words

Shifting sands
with head in a spin.
Everything,
compete blank.
Doodle time on a blank screen,
poetry coming on

Shifting words
moving round my head.
New words spin,
moving fast,
overflowing on the screen.
Poetry came for sure.

Words rolling
off end of fingers,
without stress,
happy heart,
freedom from the blocked passage,
poetry everywhere.

Shadorma Poetry– is a Spanish poetic form. A poem of six lines 3-5-3-3-7-5 syllables no set rhyme scheme. It can have many stanzas, as long as each follows the meter.

  1. Hi Elsie, Your Shadorma is a interesting poetry form, which I’ve not seen before. I’ve not tried too many different styles of poetry, some Haiku’s and a Villanelle. And on reading many of your poems, I see you are quite adept and versatile in many forms. I’d like to thank you for following my blog/website, muchly appreciated, I hope you enjoy reading my humble writings, and I’m from Geelong , Australia. And you’re my first Kiwi following my site, Cheers. Ivor.

  2. Hi Elsie, I have a question for you. With regard to the OctPoWriMo challenge, do you have to follow heir prompts each day or can you just choose what you write yourself? I see that you re following your own prompts from Goodreads – great idea! Also do you have to post your poetry on their site?
I’m a little confused by the process. Can you help please?
    Thanks 🙂
