Sarah has for this week Lucky Dip, a Trois-par-Huit Poetry Form – The topic is up to us.

Please Don’t Scare

Grey kittens
wondering while sitting
strange objects floating around the room

Is there going to be another loud boom
to set them running faster than a sweeping broom.

Pretty as kittens can look, beware
They need fun, I declare
Please don’t scare

The Trois-par-Huit was created by Lorraine M. Kanter.

Trois-par-Huit (Three-by-Eight or Octa-Tri for short), a poem containing three stanzas of 3, 3 and 2 lines OR 3, 2 and 3 lines: 8 lines total with a syllable count of 3, 6, 9, 12, 12, 9, 6, 3. The rhyming pattern is AAB BBC CC where the last line is the title of the poem and summarizes the meaning of the poem. *Note: These poems are to appear center aligned.

  1. I had such a hard time writing this type of poem I completely forgot the rhyming part, hilarious!😂 I had to use the Write program on wp which is not easy for me. It keeps jumping around with ads popping up in the middle of the screen, refusing to leave! So, maybe next time I try it, I’ll add rhyming….my goodness.

  2. Sooo cute. Some brave cats/kittens will attack that electric sweeper!
They do need stimulation just like any kiddies. 😉
I was just reading about Catios… enclosed patios for cats!
And I actually know someone who has a ‘Catio’.
