You had to take your shoes off when you went in and you weren’t allowed to jump on the furniture or tease the cat.
From Robert Rankin’s Snuff Fiction
Setting perfect for the Queen – Beware of the bite of heels cat
The queen always sat and watched every move
shoes were removed before entering
no bouncing on the furniture
Watching from the warm rooftop
ready for the next jump
pouncing if needed
heels were attacked
