Locked Door

old very rusty ancient heavy door
cobwebs galore stuck to the keyhole
looks like someone has entered it
new strong shiny lock attached
being inquisitive
pulling the closed catch
something touched me
from behind
I screamed
legs tremble
arm grabs me tight
trembling violently
gasping for air in lungs
the stranger said caught you out
do not sneak around old buildings
next time you may not be so lucky
I’m a person that won’t harm anyone
If you would like to see inside of here
I have the new key in my pocket
would you like to have a look now
just going to have a ride
when I saw you walking
around the corner,
feeling settled
shaking gone
now some

    • Thanks, yes, I was a little stuck as to where to take the poem at that stage it could have gone another way, but that would have taken the form another ten lines and I didn’t want to do that.
Appreciate your comment, have a great day.

      • well it still had awesome flow and maybe even more interest because of that “different” part – and that keeps writing fresh. really liked learning about this and seeing how you do this 🙂
