Inexpressible Beauty

Words cannot describe my feelings
seeing the beauty of this swan
I want to curl up with its wings,
listen to the music whirling around me

Seeing the beauty of this swan
Its pure white glamorous body
feeling far more than I can express
poetry a way to record a message

I want to curl up with its wings
rest my weary head on its neck
Distant sounds echoing in the valley
Inexpressible notions spring to mind

Listen to the music whirling around me
the wings of a dove cross my mind
Landing on my breast and chirping
words that cannot describe my feelings

  1. well you grabbed the beauty and softness and warmth as we imagine you curling up (and as nice as your words are and as beautiful as your poem is – I still cringe a little because some birds carry diseases and so this would not be my words- maybe mine would be – watching kiwinana curl up has emitted a quiet joy…)

    • No, my joy at seeing that magnificent swan, I wouldn’t even think of diseases.
I have spent many nights working and staying with sick animals, so I would just take it all in my stride. I have never been sick yet in all my sixty years of farming due to spending time with birds or animals, I think we come used to bugs.
