Word Prompt – Reflection

Prose Challenge – Write a story in 150 words where a character sees their reflection and is surprised by what they find.

Poetry Challenge – Write an acrostic poem, where the first letter of the first word of each line spells out “reflection” as it is read from top to bottom.

Reflection of Life

Reflection is a split second of a vision in your mind

Every little detail can change at a second glance

From the high heavens above to the ground below

Like the sky showing clear can change wild very quickly

Even the still floating leaves seems to be breathing air

Carrying on fighting for survival even after falling down

True to your life it is a reflection of a split second of a view

It will only lead to destruction of the mind if you let it in

On the inside of your body as well as the skin on the outside

Now stop and think about that reflection what do you see?

  1. Beautiful poem, Elsie. It’s so true how quickly a reflection can change. I loved how you ended the poem with a question 🙂
Thanks for joining in with the Weekend Writing Prompt. Have a great weekend 🙂
