Write a piece of flash fiction, a poem, a chapter for your novel…anything you like.  Or take the challenge.

Challenge

Prose Challenge – Pick a saying that has a colour in it (green as envy, seeing red, blue murder, not black and white, etc) and write a story about it, using no more than 100 words.

Poetry Challenge – Write a poem of any length that includes all the colours of the rainbow.

Rainbow Pantoum Poem

rainbow is a meteorological phenomenon that is caused by reflection and refraction
Light in water droplets resulting in a spectrum of light appearing in the sky.
There are many colours that the human eye is able to distinguish in a spectrum
Colours could be in the order of 100 different shades distinguishes hues.

If anyone sees seven colours in a rainbow is related to the idea of Linguistic relativity

People whose language has fewer colour words seeing fewer discrete colour bands.

  1. What a great read, Elsie. I didn’t know that rainbows can be a full circle. I’d love to see one!
    And I’d never thought about the varying hues involved. Naturally, when you think about it, this has to be the case… 🙂

    • Hi, Carolyn, yes it is quite amazing what you learn when you actually sit down and write a pantoum poem, I learned a lot more about rainbows also, must write another one, one day, a great way to learn.
