7 April 2017 – F is for Fox

Foxes are small-to-medium-sized, nocturnal mammals
Meaning that the fox only goes out at night to hunt for prey
Foxes live on every continent except Antarctica. They don’t live in NZ
In the wild, the typical lifespan of a fox is six to seven years

Unlike many canids, foxes are not always pack animals

    • Yes, I think it is interesting when I read “Foxes live on every continent except Antarctica”. I just had to add that they do not live in NZ, I wonder how many more parts of the world that they don’t live?

    • Thanks Iain for commenting. Nice to know they don’t cause too many problems, not like the possum, do here they are a problem, but I don’t think we need foxes in NZ. I will just look at the photos they are cute.
