Carpe Diem’s Haiku Kai Welcoming the Spring Retreat 2017.

The theme is “fragile beauty” – Day 1 – Cherry Blossom.

Spring Retreat 2017 starts on January 15th (10.00 PM (CET)) and will run to February 15th (10.00 PM (CET)).

Did you know that the cherry blossom is considered the national flower of Japan?

Most Japanese schools and public buildings have cherry blossom trees outside of them.

Since the fiscal and school year both begin in April, in many parts of Honshū, the first day of work or school coincides with the cherry blossom season.

From the end of March to early May, sakura bloom is all over Japan.
