#All New Writer’s Quote Challenge/5 – Thinking

The Writer’s Quote Challenge is a weekly event. Each Thursday, the hostess(es) Bernadette & Jacqueline will post a weekly prompt.

Either make up your own sayings or use a quote from a famous author that you find gives you inspiration.

Here is Bernadette’s offering for this week:

I can’t think about that right now. If I do, I’ll go crazy. I’ll think about that tomorrow.”

— Gone with the Wind – Margaret Mitchell.

Here is my quote about “Thinking”.

“We are addicted to our thoughts. We cannot change anything if we cannot change our thinking.”

Santosh Kalwar, Quote Me Everyday

I think it is a nice quote to consider after reading Bernadette’s offering for this week.

I do think we are addicted by our thought’s, if we think we can’t do it, we will not try to do it, but if we had tried we might have found out how easy it was to do.

I know in my situation if I see something that needs doing, I don’t even think about it, I just do it, I find there’s not much I can not do.

It’s all in the mind.

How do you feel about it?

Please comment and tell some of the things you have done which you thought you would never do.

Surprise us.

  1. Mmm what immediately comes to mind is that I was able to complete a university degree in my forties. This was while working full time and one child still in highschool. When I was younger that was the furthest thing from my mind. It took me seven years part time but I did it. Another thing I never thought I would do was have a blog. As I get older, I have more faith in myself and just do it – whatever it is. The only thing I find, though, is that I don’t always find things easy but I give it a go anyway. One of my favourite quotes is Honore de Balzac’s “We do not attach ourselves lastingly to anything that has not cost us care, labour or longing”.

    • Thanks for commenting. You have done well, it doesn’t matter how long it takes, it’s the satisfaction we get at the end.
Yes, a blog is wonderful, it’s great keeping up with modern tech knowledge as every day I learn something new through blogging.
University degree in your forties that’s great.
      Have a nice weekend.

  2. I was over fifty had never travelled or been out of my security zone, when I grabbed the opportunity (that was made by me) to work for a while in India. I stepped into the unknown to a hostile environment with barriers of language and caste and I excelled.. I tried not to over think and am still so very proud of myself and my achievement.

    • That’s a great achievement especially the language barrier, into an environment like that. I bet you had a few sleepless nights.
I have taken on many things I wasn’t comfortable about, but I defiantly wouldn’t take on that challenge. Cheers to you.
      Thanks for commenting.
