Weekly Tanka Prompt Challenge – Week 19 – Earth & Nature

Weekly Tanka Prompt Challenge – Week 19 – Earth & Nature

#weeklytankachallenge -19

I nearly didn’t post one this week, I’m a bit late but it’s still Wednesday in some parts of the world, so I suppose it’s never too late.

Simple Guidelines.

Take the two words “earth and nature” and write a Tanka Poem.

English tanka poetry consists of five units, usually with the following pattern of    5-7-5-7-7 which is syllables.

  1. You can use the picture above, or your own or no picture at all.

Copy and paste the link of your finished Tanka to the comments below, I will acknowledge them the following week, also share on Social Networks.

My version of earthquakes in New Zealand on Sunday night  – Tanka Poem

shaken to the roots

the earth kept rumbling deep down

too frighten to move

mother nature keeps shaking

leaving no corner unturned

Bloggers that entered “Weekly Tanka Challenge – Week 18 –  “beauty & seasons”. Thank you.

  1. This is such an emotional tanka, borne from an upsetting experience. I’ve never experienced a full earthquake, only a slight tremor back home in South Carolina. It was so slight that we weren’t even sure it had actually happened. I am so sorry for the scary times your area is experiencing.
You’re in my prayers, all of you. Have a blessed day.
