Storm Brewing

It was one of those days when you wonder what the day holds.

The weather was stirring up a storm, the wind was thrashing the old building from every direction.

I turn over in my bed thinking it would be a good day to stay in bed, but I had to go to work.

I had been watching the sky through the rattling window when I saw an unusual shape in the sky moving very fast towards the building, wondering what it was, there was a loud noise, I froze, in that minute it hit the building with an almighty thump sent me flying across the room.

I don’t really know what happen after that as I roused in the corner of the room covered with sand, half opening my eyes painfully, viewing what was in front of me, sand piled all around me doors were open and the sand had slivered into all the rooms, doors were open I could see a clearing in the distance, that looked like the passage from the floor above, what was going on?

Then I heard the alarm, was someone coming to help me get out of all this mess, afraid to move in case I fell further into the deep sand,  but the alarm didn’t stop no one was coming, wiping my eyes again and looking up, I was looking at my bedroom roof, it was my alarm clock going off, what a nightmare, so glad it wasn’t actually happening, there was no sand around me, must have fallen asleep while waiting for the alarm to go off. Oh! that dream felt so true.
