#NaBloPoMo – Day Five – Growing Older – Keeping Active

#NaBloPoMo – Day Five – Growing Older – Keeping Active

Day Five of – Cheer Peppers NanoPoblano 30 Day Challenge.

When do you know you are old?

Well for me it was this morning when my husband showed me a death notice of one of my first cousins.

She had passed away at the age of 90, when I read her age that was my first feeling of being old as I used to play with her as a child.

Later I thought about this death and realize of all my first cousins (I had many), I could count the ones still alive on my fingers, then I had another panic attack, that’s when it hit home to me, I was old in age, maybe not in the mind and body.

So what’s the secret to a long life?

Well, I suppose it is just keep breathing, what else can I say, well if we were not breathing we would not be reading this.

So I would go with this Quote for today

Old age comes on suddenly, and not gradually as is thought. Emily Dickinson

So I will go on like the picture at the top is telling us, multitasking, writing for my blog, reading and commenting on all my follower websites, plus running a home for my family and never give age another thought.

Here’s something to think about if you can get your mind around it.

There was an important job to be done, everybody was sure somebody would do it, but nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that because it was everybody’s job, anybody could have done it, but nobody realized that everybody wouldn’t do it. It ended up that everybody blamed somebody when actually nobody asked anybody.

Blessings to all my readers may you have a wonderful weekend.

  1. Emily was right–it all happens pretty fast! But age is just a number 🙂 Everyone who knows me–even bloggers who’ve never actually met me–say I’m much younger than the notion of “64”. I’m blessed that God saved the best for last in my life–I didn’t really have a childhood, so I’m making up for it now 🙂

  2. My condolences on losing your playmate, and I guess friend as well. I have been getting stick from family members for being the first to reach 70 next month. I keep telling them their turns will come, but being the first to do it apparently makes me older in their eyes. The fact to recognise I suppose is that age just keeps on moving on regardless.
