Hedgehogs are very underrated animal blamed for many things.
Their defense is the ability to roll into a tight ball which gives them sharp spikes.
But before modern days came with all the poison to kill unwanted pests in the garden.
Hedgehogs were the quickest way of devouring the slugs and snails that destroyed the plants.

But you never ever hear the good they do on earth.

For many cultures. they are a food source even today.

They are being used for traditional medicine in some countries.

Hedgehogs can be very vocal with their grunts and squeals.

For all the good they can bring the world they are a pest in New Zealand.

I remember my mother blaming them for the cows having no milk.

You may wonder why my mother blamed them for the cows having no milk.

Her theory was that when the cows were laying down resting the hedgehogs came and sucked the cow’s teats.

Would love to hear from anyone reading this if it is true or just an old fashion Myth

standing on my own

can not breathe under your terms

love is against us

moving to greener pastures

were it will never be brown

NanoPoblano  2016 – Day 29 – Kangaroo Feeding – Pantoum Poetry

#NaBloPoMo – Day Twenty-nine  of – Cheer Peppers NanoPoblano 30 Day Challenge

Pantoum Poem about an impatient little Joey.

Mummy can I jump in your pouch now, I want a drink?
Son, you have a new brother.
You can have a look now and see him feeding.
He is so little, how did he get into my bed?

Son, you have a new brother
I’m hungry what can I eat?
Oh, he is so little, how did he get into my bed?
Wait until I’ve finished feeding joey and we will find some fresh grass for you.

I’m hungry what can I eat?
You must learn to find your own food now.
Wait until I’ve finished feeding joey and we will find some fresh grass for you.
Will the other big kangaroos help us find food?

You must learn to find your own food now.
Will you always be with me?
Will the other big kangaroos help us find food?
Yes, son, we all help one another that’s what families do.

Will you always be with me?
Will my new brother always be in my bed
Yes, son, we all help one another that’s what families do.
Can I have a little milk beside him?

Will my new brother always be in my bed
You can have a look now and see him feeding.
Can I have a little milk beside him?
Mummy can I jump in your pouch now, I want a drink?

Hope I made you smile.

Marmot Sitting on Guard

Sitting on day guard for punishment
Just do not fall asleep
Your life depends on it
Otherwise, you will never know what happen

Just do not fall asleep
Or you may get sun stroke
Otherwise, you will never know what happen
Your family are relying on you

Or you may get sun stroke
Remember do not leave your post
Your family are relying on you
Watch for the guy with the gun

Remember do not leave your post
He is a little trigger happy
Watch for the guy with the gun
He has a big dog with him

He is a little trigger happy
His bullets never miss
He has a big dog with him
Be alert or beware

His bullets never miss
Your life depends on it
Be alert of beware
Sitting on day guard for punishment.
