Carpe Diem #1066  Jane Reichhold’s Legacy September 27th – Prompt – Beach

This month at Carpe Diem all the prompts are from Jane’s Saijiki “A Dictionary of Haiku”.

In every episode, Chèvrefeuille will share haiku by Jane (and sometimes tanka) to inspire us.

All my writing for Jane Reichhold Legacy will be tanka poetry, writing tanka using one word as a prompt, I intend to do it in a way to honor Jane, hope it works, as I’m still learning.

September 27th, 2016 prompt is “Beach”.

walking on the beach

as the setting sun went down

shells of sea creatures

gleaming in the soft grey sand

waves whispering in full tide

    • Thanks for commenting. You have a point, I don’t know why I used ‘went’ instead of ‘goes’.
      Will consider changing it.
Not very good at nouns verbs etc, maybe I should go back to school in my old age.
Happy days writing tanka poems, which I enjoy very much.
      Nice meeting you.
