Carpe Diem #1064  Jane Reichhold’s Legacy September 25th – Prompt – Driftwood

This month at Carpe Diem all the prompts are from Jane’s Saijiki “A Dictionary of Haiku”.

In every episode, Chèvrefeuille will share haiku by Jane (and sometimes tanka) to inspire us.

All my writing for Jane Reichhold Legacy will be tanka poetry, writing tanka using one word as a prompt, I intend to do it in a way to honor Jane, hope it works, as I’m still learning.

September 25th, 2016 prompt is “Driftwood”.

strange looking driftwood

wondering who carved this piece

bend to pick it up

it sweep away from my hands

disappearing down a hole

All I can do is smile at this piece of tanka poem, couldn’t think of a good ending, so here it is, today is Sunday, Daylight saving came in this morning, so maybe it’s the funny feeling of losing a hours sleep.

Happy sunday everyone – Smile.

    • Thank you for the comment, it means a lot to me to have a compliment like that.
Thanks for all the great prompts in September in memory of Jane. I only meet her work through you, still learning but enjoying every minute of it.
      Have a nice weekend.
