Weekly Tanka Prompt Challenge – Week 11 – Game Birds

Simple Guidelines.

Take the two words “Game Birds” and write a Tanka Poem.

Tanka consists of five units, usually with the following pattern of    5-7-5-7-7 which is syllables.

This is for the readers that haven’t tried writing a Tanka and don’t understand how to write one.

Line 1 – 5 syllables, Line 2 – 7 syllables, Line 3 – 5 syllables, Line 4 – 7 syllables, Line 5 – 7 syllables.

What is a syllable?

  1. a unit of pronunciation having one vowel sound, with or without surrounding consonants, forming the whole or a part of a word; for example, there are two syllables in water and three in inferno.
  2. You can use the picture above.

Copy and paste the link of your finished tanka to the comments below.

My Tanka Poem –  Game Birds

some game birds are proud

male pheasants are beautiful

they flaunt the forest

lovers of bulbs in gardens

they win the hearts of humans

    • When you have posted your tanka poem on your website, copy the URL and paste it in the comments below, I will get an email, approve it and comment on your website, also twitter your post.
I did Reblog them, but some bloggers prefer me not to, so I have stopped that.
Next week when I add a new challenge I will post all this weeks links on that post so other writers can read yours.
      Hope this helps.
Next month I hope WordPress will accept it as a challenge, I will then have a link your you to add your post.
      Have a nice weekend.
