Carpe Diem #1041 Jane Reichhold’s Legacy September 2nd Prompt – Pines
This month at Carpe Diem all the prompts are from Jane’s Saijiki “A Dictionary of Haiku”.
In every episode, Chèvrefeuille will share haiku by Jane (and sometimes tanka) to inspire us.
All my writing for Jane Reichhold Legacy will be tanka poetry, writing tanka using one word as a prompt isn’t easy, I intend to do it in a way to honor Jane, hope it works, as I’m still learning.
September 2nd prompt is “Pines”.
Meaning in my poem “Desire for something or someone who is not present”.
as queen of poetry
discovered you a bit late
body pines for you
thanks for all the great lessons
tanka poetry I shall learn
Awesome tribute to Jane

Thanks for the nice comment, the poem is so true, I found Jane through your writing but too late to really get to know her as you have.
She has a wonderful website with great lessons which I’m following, and hopefully will fully understand tanka poetry which is my form of writing poetry now.
Enjoy your weekend and thanks again for your excellent website, you have much on it I wish to learn as the months go by.
