Day Seven, of Blogging University – Writing Everyday Inspiration – Let Social Media Inspire You.
Today, write a response to one of these tweets. Shape your post in any way you choose — agree or disagree with the tweet, or use it as a starting point for a story, personal essay, poem, or something else.
“Why is writing so much harder for me than it is for everybody else?” — every novelist ever, secretly to themselves, all the time
When I first started writing on a blog, no way could I write about anything my mind was a complete block.
The first few weeks it was really hard I dreaded writing, the thought about what could I put on my blog was overpowering, I just couldn’t think of more than half a dozen words to write.
“It seemed so much harder for me than it is for everybody else”.
Reading what others were writing didn’t help either, just made my it harder.
I just kept putting it off, I realized that the only way I was going to any writing done was to set a day and time and stick to it.
Sunday morning It was, it was not easy, but I stuck to it, and some six weeks later, I did not wait for Sundays I started writing during the week.
Now some years later I have written by many ways but I still cannot start writing a novel.
I need a push to start getting pen to paper but have no idea where to start.
If anyone reading this can leave a link to help me get started writing a novel I would appreciate it.
Have no advice except to get away for a while and do something totally different for a few days. You might be inspired. Good luck.

It’s crazy but write and write and write seems to be the answer to ending struggling with it. I started doing challenges and it became easier

I used to feel that way about drawing but the more I draw, the more I enjoy it and look forward to creating each day. I think I’d start by writing a short story or maybe a chapter. I also find for me that I need to observe what others do in art in order to improve so for you that probably means reading lots of books. What subjects do you enjoy? Another way I get better in art is to take classes. Online classes work the best for me. I bet if you googled it, you might be able to find a class online about writing. 🙂

You are right the more you do it the better you will become at doing anything as you have shown with your artwork.
You have given me an idea I will Google “How to start writing a novel”, hopefully, I will start writing my first book.
I will finish my Blogging University assignments first, then start looking for lessons.
Thank you for taking the time to respond to my post.
Blessings.

I think when you write a novel you’re supposed to start with writing outlines and character backgrounds and stuff so you don’t contradict yourself later on.
I couldn’t be bothered with all that so I dove straight in, wrote a page and a half, got bored and that’s where it’s at now after several months. It’s gonna be awesome, though 🙂

Thanks for the comment, you are a good writer, I think the same thing could happen to me when I get started, perhaps not getting bored with it, but write for a while and then go on another track writing like the assignment I’m doing now and stop writing the novel for a few months, hope not.
All the best with your book let me know when you have finished it.

Did they change blogging university? It seems that one can start a course now anytime. Great that you are going on with it. I am not sure if I wait as I booked a course here in Regensburg. Well, I will see…
We have got writing courses as well. Even how to write a novel. Perhaps there’s anything like this in New Zealand? If not you might find an online course how to collect ideas, sorting them and how to find a place to start… Good luck!

They have a new course called “Blogging U. On Demand” here’s the link. https://dailypost.wordpress.com/blogging-university/
I have learnt a lot that I didn’t know how to do it, with this Writing Everyday Inspiration
I’m not sure if there are any writing courses in NZ, most likely there is.
As soon as I have finished this assignment in Blogging University I will start sorting out something to start a novel, I feel I’m ready for it, but I still need to keep writing my blog on WordPress.
Hope you are having a great week.

Most good writers I know tend to be perfectionists. I know I can be one, and that can be the biggest strength as a writer, and the greatest curse. For me, I want my book or article to be “perfect,” and if it does not live up to that standard, I can get discouraged and let things slide.
In the wonderful world of blogging, though, I have found it does not have to be perfect. I’ll save “perfect” for that book I may finish one day.

Hi! Your writing is perfect. I enjoy reading it, gives me food for thought when I have spare time to think about it, that usually late at night before I go to sleep.

I’m pleased to see you tried this post. I like the suggestions this course have, particular to use social media as a form of inspiration. You’ve spurred me on to try this.
In regards to writing a book, have you ever seen the website TheWritePractice.com
You’ll find a lot of great advice and start points.

Nice to hear from you. You will enjoy doing this posts. All the best with the rest of the assignments, I’m struggling also, at day 15, for some reason I cannot get a flow on to write, I start writing but after the first paragraph, I get a mental block and find it hard to continue writing.
I will check out “The Write Practice.com”. In the month of June, I’m doing this challenge you may like to have a look at it. https://kathleenbduncan.com/2016/04/25/up-for-a-challenge/
Hopefully, in July, I will start writing my novel.
Thanks for your comment, hope you enjoy your week off writing.
