Phantom Ghost

The Storyteller Abode

While walking around the sand dunes picking up shells, Amy came upon a walkway going up a steep side of the cliff, she had never seen that before.

Deciding she would climb it, sure was very steep, making her stop every now and then to get her breath, as she a rounded the next corner, surprise, there was a large stone building with more step leading up to an empty hole with only the blue sky showing through.

She stood looking at the features of the stones wondering if she should venture any further, she hadn’t seen any sign saying that it was private property.

Deciding to investigate, up she went, as she approached the top a shadow appeared at the top, it gave her such a fright, she screamed, it was amazing she didn’t fall down.

When she got over the surprise and look again there was nothing there.

Was it her imagination?

Perhaps a phantom ghost?

She wasn’t waiting to find out, she got down those steps and didn’t stop running until she hit the sand on the beach.

Thank you to Priceless Joy for running the challenge and Louise with The Storyteller’s Abode for providing the photo!

I am participating in Flash Fiction for Aspiring Writer, where we write a piece between 100 and 150 words (more or less 25 words) in length inspired by the photo prompt above.
